Abdullah Almutairi is head coach of the Nepali national football team

April 4, Kathmandu - Abdullah Almutairi has been appointed as the head coach of the Nepali national football team (men's).

Kuwaiti Abdullah has been appointed as the examiner of the national team by the   All Nepal Football Association (ANFA) as per the recommendation of the technical committee. He has been given the responsibility of the team by ANFA for one year.

He has been appointed in place of Bal Gopal Maharjan. He will lead the Nepali team in the three games of the World Cup qualifiers to be held next June and the clean championship to be held in September this year.

Abdullah has been appointed as the coach of the World Cup qualifiers after FIFA introduced a rule that the head coach of the team playing in the World Cup should have a pro license.

He has previously coached teams in Qatar, Kyrgyzstan, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.
