40 Infected People Were Added On Same Day, Ignoring Masks And Social distance

April 11, Kathmandu- In Banke, which borders India, the number of infected people has recently increased. According to the District Covid-19 Crisis Management Center, tests conducted at Bheri Hospital and various other labs in Banke have confirmed corona in 40 people on the same day.

Tej Oli, Corona Focal Person of Banke, said that the number of infected people in Banke has been increasing along with the return of Nepalis from Maharashtra, Gujarat, and Punjab. He said that according to the results till Saturday night, tests conducted in different laboratories of the district on the same day found 40 people infected.

A 73-year-old woman from Dullu-7, Dailekh, who was undergoing treatment at Bheri Hospital on Saturday night, died on the spot, said focal person Oli. The District Kovid 19 Crisis Management Center has stated that isolation wards have been set up at Nepalgunj Medical College and Kohalpur Teaching Hospital of Nepalgunj Medical College as the number of infected people has increased. Earlier, both the isolation wards were closed after the infection in the district reached zero.

Infections are on the rise, but masks and social distances are ignored

Although corona infection is increasing day by day in the district, most of the locals do not care about wearing masks and maintaining social distance. More than 90 percent of the people walking in the markets of Nepalgunj, Kohalpur, and Khajura of Banke do not wear masks nor do they maintain social distance.

Only 10 percent of those who travel by public transport, go shopping in the market and go out for various other activities wear masks and try to maintain social distance.

Acting Chief District Officer of Banke, Dirgharaj Upadhyaya, said that they have been requested to wear masks and maintain social distance.
He said that those who play with their own lives will be required to strictly follow the health standards. He also said that they are preparing to start monitoring for that.
