Information technology infrastructure should be developed for online classes

April 19, Kathmandu - It has been emphasized that the infrastructure of the information technology sector should be developed to run online classes to prevent the transmission of coronavirus. Anandaraj Khanal, senior director of the Telecommunication Authority of Nepal (TAN), said that major infrastructure has not been developed in the major cities to conduct online classes. He said that there was a challenge on how to stop the spread of corruption through information technology.

Mentioning that the information technology sector is a hostage of policy and rules, he said that the users themselves should be self-disciplined and self-regulated. Khanal, who has been working in the field of information technology for 25 years, said that there are problems in the field even though the legal provisions in the field of information technology have not been implemented.

Atul Koirala, Member Secretary of the Foundation, stressed on the need to take steps to solve the problems by increasing study, teaching and research in the field of information technology. He said that the information technology sector could be improved through education. In order to bring the issues of the society in this area to the concerned bodies, the foundation has been conducting debates through zoom technology following the health standards issued to avoid corona for the last one year.
