April 19, Kathmandu - Twenty-two political parties have staged a protest against the MCC at Maitighar in Kathmandu. Twenty-two political parties staged a protest at Maitighar Mandal on Monday to put pressure on the government not to move ahead with the MCC agreement.

Participants in the demonstration chanted slogans such as 'MCC is not needed, the country cannot be sold' and 'Reject the MCC project'. The protesters also carried pamphlets such as 'Let's repeal the treacherous MCC agreement, let's protect national sovereignty', 'We don't need MCC agreement, we can't colonize Nepal', 'let's protect national independence', 'we don't need MCC, we can't sell the country'.
