Deuba Furious With Prachanda

May 8, Kathmandu- Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba and UCPN (Maoist) Central Committee Chairman Pushpa Kamal Dahal held a half-hour talk at Deuba's residence in Budhanilkantha on Friday evening. Dahal asked Deuba to file a no-confidence motion against Oli. Deuba said the number was still low.

"What are you talking about? I don't want to be prime minister?" citing what Deuba said to Dahal, the source said, "Missing number?" In response, Dahal said that a majority would be reached after at least 18 Nepali lawmakers from the Nepali side resigned. Deuba, on the other hand, said that he did not think that Nepali leaders would resign.

"They have to believe. What will happen if I submit a no-confidence motion and the Nepalese do not resign?" Deuba had asked Dahal. Deuba had asked the same question to UML leader Nepal on Thursday. Deuba had assured Nepal that if you resign, I will bring a no-confidence motion.

Returning to reassure Deuba, Nepal then went to Shitalniwas to meet President Vidyadevi Bhandari. A leader close to Dahal said that Deuba had proposed a no-confidence motion to Dahal immediately due to the rush within the UML from Thursday evening to Friday evening. "Now the UML is undecided. Let's see what they decide, then we will see," said a source close to Dahal, quoting the dialogue between Deuba and Dahal.
