Journalist Demand To Get Vaccinated Against COVID-19

May 8, Kathmandu- The Kathmandu branch of the Federation of Nepali Journalists (FNJ) has demanded that journalists working in the field for news gathering be provided with PCR test, vaccine against COVID019 and health materials in a simple and easy way.

Announcing the decision of the branch meeting on Friday, branch secretary Maheshwar Gautam demanded that the media and journalists who are informing the public about the corona epidemic be given concessions on essential items like the internet, telephone and electricity as the second phase of COVID-19 transition is increasing day by day with new variants.

The meeting also decided to request the Central Committee not to charge this year's renewal fee of the branch members and to request the media house to regularize the service facilities of working journalists and media persons, said Branch Secretary Gautam. Similarly, it has been decided to form a seven-member 'Tax Force' committee under the coordination of Branch Chairman Surya Subedi to assist the journalists at risk and prepare for the situation. A three-member committee has been formed under the coordination of branch vice-chairman Ram Chandra Dulal to identify the number of infected branch members, the condition of those in hospitals and home isolation and submit suggestions within five days.
